The YTP Graduate Programme gives sailors leaving YTP continued access to the Emirates Team New Zealand Elliott 7 fleet, ensuring an ongoing pathway for training.

In 2026, RNZYS will discontinue the Performance Programme (2017–2025) to focus fully on the Youth Training Programme (YTP).

The YTP Graduate Programme replaces the Performance Programme, giving graduates continued access to the Emirates Team New Zealand Elliott 7 fleet and a clear pathway for ongoing training.

Training is self-directed, with no formal coaching provided. Sailors may bring their own coaches, but all participants (coaches, RHIB drivers, sailors) must be approved by the sailing office.

Opportunities & Support

Sailors can stay connected to the YTP legacy by volunteering in coaching, regatta support, and leadership roles—earning credits to offset training costs.

Sailors can also apply to the International Sailing Fund (ISF) for support with entry fees and travel to international regattas.
