The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is more than just a private members establishment. Our classically designed clubroom offers a variety of spaces for intimate dinners, to full-scale parties, weddings, award ceremonies and more.
Current members of RNZYS can also access discounts for venue space (subject to membership level).
Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Home of the America’s Cup, is a spacious, multi-functional building at the foot of the Harbour Bridge in Westhaven Marina.
The building has a distinctive nautical appearance where sun-drenched decks and rooms offer superb views over Westhaven Marina, CBD, Waitemata Harbour, and the Harbour Bridge.
The Squadron boasts a variety of event spaces designed to cater to diverse occasions, from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. Each space is meticulously designed to provide an elegant and comfortable environment, all while offering breathtaking views of the Waitemata Harbour.

The Ballroom
Located on the ground floor, the Ballroom is our largest room. The spacious room has an open atrium and extended patio. The Ballroom is a popular choice for conferences and exhibitions or trade displays as well as large dinners, awards evenings, and cocktail parties.
This room can be set up carpeted, or with a timber floor in the middle of the room to create a dance floor.
The Dinghy Locker and the North Lawn can be hired in addition to the Ballroom to create extra space for break out sessions, or as a pre-function area.
Dinghy Locker
Timber floors, large glass doors and an extensive deck at the water’s edge of the marina, the Dinghy Locker is a great space for fun and casual functions. This room offers spectacular views of the harbour, marina and the city lights making it a popular room to hire for afternoon and evening events as the sun goes down.
The Dinghy Locker has a fully equipped private bar, bar leaners and bar stools are available to create a more relaxed event.
North Lawn
Need an outdoor display area for a product launch? Or just an outdoor space to enjoy the sun with colleagues? The North Lawn is available to hire as an add on to the Ballroom, Dinghy Locker or Quarterdeck.
Featuring new and bright astroturfing, own private outdoor bar and large outdoor umbrellas and furniture, it is the perfect space on a fine day to overlook the Harbour Bridge and enjoy a cold drink.
Quarterdeck
Located on the first floor, the Quarterdeck showcases elevated views over the Westhaven marina, the Waitemata Harbour and Auckland City, including the Sky Tower.
This room is stunning and elegant and has a large covered balcony that can be used for pre-drinks, or to create some indoor-outdoor flow.
The Quarterdeck is ideal for conferences, lunches or dinner functions and cocktail parties. This room has it’s own private bar and sheer curtains to allow for the space to be divided.
Commodore’s Room
Welcome to our versatile meeting and event space, perfect for professional gatherings to evening functions. By day, it offers a sophisticated setting for conferences, meetings, and presentations with a large data projector and flexible seating arrangements.
As the evening sets in, the space transforms into a vibrant venue, perfect for cocktails, social events, or private functions. Complete with a fully stocked bar and stylish ambiance, this adaptable room offers the perfect balance of work and relaxation.
Whether it’s a day of collaboration or a night of celebration, this space is designed to impress.
Member's Lounge
Uninterrupted views of the Harbour Bridge and the Waitemata Harbour make this room ideal for board meetings or smaller, more exclusive functions.
A versatile space that offers flexibility on set up whether it be individual tables, or one large boardroom table with a lounge area.
The Member’s Lounge offers some of the best views in town making this is our most popular room.
Committee Room
Traditionally this room has been reserved exclusively for events of the club Committee, now available to hire for meetings and private events. The Committee Room is steeped in the history of the club Commodore’s and has stunning views over the Westhaven Marina. This room offers a secluded yet impressive space to host a meeting or function.
Crows Nest
Perched up on the second level, The Crow’s Nest catches the all day sun creating a warm and inviting room year round. This is the only room located on the second floor and therefore offers the most spectacular views of the Harbour Bridge.
The Crow’s Nest was originally home of Emirates Team New Zealand’s Sir Peter Blake making this room perfectly suited to private meetings and impressive small dinner functions.
