The Toyota Kiwi Cup Tour, an open invitation to Kiwis to show their support for Emirates Team New Zealand.
Ahead of Emirates Team New Zealand’s defence of the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona, the most publicly accessible tour of the America’s Cup is coming to a town or city near you.
With the support of Toyota New Zealand, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) is embarking on a road trip to bring the world’s oldest international sporting trophy to communities across New Zealand.
Toyota New Zealand Assistant Vice President, Susanne Hardy, says being able to have the America’s Cup tour the country is an incredible way of sharing the spirit of the Cup with New Zealand.

“We are thrilled to be taking the America’s Cup on tour in partnership with the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. It’s a great opportunity for Kiwis to see the Cup in person and be inspired by all that it brings. Innovation and collaboration are at the heart of our partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand, and the Toyota Kiwi Cup Tour harnesses that so well.”
Commencing Monday 2nd September, the Toyota Kiwi Cup Tour is an opportunity for people to see the America’s Cup up close, take pictures and be part of the buildup.
The tour will make stops at Toyota Stores across New Zealand as well as visiting multiple schools and yacht clubs.
“This is a chance for everyone to see a piece of sporting history that represents the level of what Kiwis can achieve”, says RNZYS General Manager Sarah Wiblin. “We are so proud to be able to share our passion for the America’s Cup with all of New Zealand and are grateful to Toyota New Zealand’s support to allow us to take the Cup around the country. By visiting over 40 locations we are definitely going to do that as part of the Toyota Kiwi Cup Tour.”
In support of Emirates Team New Zealand people are invited to come along to the Toyota Stores to sign the sail of support that will be taken to Barcelona and presented to the team, as well as post their messages of support– in either digital or hard copy.
“We know that Emirates Team New Zealand thrive on encouragement and support from back home. With long days and nights ahead of them, showing your support on the sail will help them keep going come race time” says Wiblin.
