The Sundowner Rum Race Series is the perfect way to sail into the weekend.

Taking place on Friday afternoons throughout the sailing season, Rum Racing is the perfect excuse to leave work early, get out on the Waitematā and enjoy an afternoon on the water, with just enough friendly rivalry to keep things interesting.

It’s also a great opportunity to introduce new sailors, friends, colleagues and corporate guests to sailing, with a relaxed atmosphere on the water and an even better one back at the Squadron afterwards.

Throughout the season there are a few twists on the usual Friday format, including Women’s Helm Races, encouraging more women to take the wheel, and a Mark Foy race to finish each seasonal series.

Whether you’re a regular or joining us for the first time, grab your crew and start the weekend the right way.
