Match Racing Championship

29th  October – 1st November 2026

The New Zealand Match Racing Championship, hosted by the RNZYS, is New Zealand’s premier match racing regatta.

2026 sees the return of the MRX keelboat to the championship for the first time since 2011, with three days of intense racing between some of the best match racers from New Zealand and overseas.

The MRX is a 10.3-metre one-design keelboat, with symmetrical spinnaker, designed by Bruce Farr and purpose built in Auckland for the1990 World Match Racing Championship and has since become New Zealand’s premier fleet for match racing and keelboat competition.
