Sail or motor under the stars and celebrate Matariki.

Matariki is the Maori name for the Pleiades star cluster, and it signifies the Maori New Year. It’s a time for remembrance, reflection, and planning for the future, with traditions like gathering with whanau, sharing kai (food), and telling stories.

This year we’ve introduced a Motoring Division for those who’d like to enjoy an evening cruise around the harbour with friends while still being part of the Matariki festivities.
– Sailing yachts entering the Motoring Division, enter through TopYacht as usual, selecting the Motoring Division.
– Launches entering the Motoring Division should email [email protected] with Boat Name, Design, Skipper.

What to expect:
16:55 – First warning signal from Westhaven Tower

• Sailing Yachts: A Rum Race style course
• Motoring Vessels: A cruise around the Auckland Harbour racing buoys (may be a similar course to the Sailing Yachts)

18:00/30 – Approximate race/cruise finish at Westhaven Tower
19:00 – Approximate prize giving back at the squadron. Food specials to come!
