As Commodore David Blakey announced back at the AGM in August, the Squadron has now entered into an exciting new partnership with Montana Group, New Zealand’s largest privately owned catering company.

We are pleased to let you know that this partnership officially came into effect on Wednesday 1st October, just days after the opening of our 154th Opening Day.

While Montana Group brings scale, expertise, and resources as one of the country’s leading food and beverage operators, it is their premium Auckland catering brand Urban Gourmet, that members will see and experience day to day at RNZYS. Urban Gourmet specialises in refined, full-service catering and will be the exclusive partner delivering food and beverage across the clubhouse.

Over the coming weeks, the Urban team will spend time learning how we do things at RNZYS, getting to know our members, our traditions, and the way we like to operate. Once this bedding-in period is complete, we will begin working together on improvements and changes designed to enhance your experience across the clubhouse.

Importantly, all of our current Food & Beverage staff have been offered the opportunity to transfer to Montana Group, ensuring security, training, and career development within a leading hospitality organisation – while still being the familiar faces you know at RNZYS.

Member discounts will remain! As a member of RNZYS, your membership will continue to give you discounts across the food and beverage outlets.

Change won’t happen in an instant, and we ask for you to be patient as we move forward with this new partnership. However, Montana and Urban are determined to improve your overall membership experience – and we know that over time you will see a big difference.
