At the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) we’re a community united by a love of boating or just being on and around the water.
We are conveniently situated in one of Auckland Central’s best waterside locations, overlooking the Waitematā Harbour and Westhaven Marina.
We are the home of the America’s Cup, Lighthouse Café, the Members Bar & Restaurant, the highly regarded Emirates Team New Zealand Youth Training Programme, RNZYS Women’s Day Out, Learn to Sail, Rum Race Series, Commodore’s Cup, a regular social event programme and much more.

Membership Categories
These membership categories and rates are effective from 1 April 2026 for new members and 1 May 2026 for current members.
Full Membership
Includes all member benefits on and off the water, the ability to skipper a yacht during club races, and eligible for the General Committee to help govern our club. Full Membership fees are tiered, based on age

Squadron Membership
Participates in on-water events (e.g. crews in club races, owns a launch, powerboat or trailer yacht) but does not skipper a yacht in RNZYS races. Also participates in off-water events and enjoys full use of RNZYS premises at Westhaven and Kawau

Long-Standing Retired RNZYS Members
We are pleased to offer our long-standing members who have consistently supported the RNZYS and have reached retirement age a discounted annual Full Membership subscription. The discounted subscription is based on the members age and consecutive years of service. Current members are welcome to contact the membership team to check their eligibility and request a category transfer.
Consecutive years of service can be accumulated across any and multiple membership categories
