Smelting House Bay

Booking moorings in Smelting House Bay are just one of the many benefits of being a RNZYS Member

  1. Use of moorings is at the risk of the vessel owner and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron accepts no liability for any damage caused whilst they are being used.
  2. Moorings must be booked in advance by making a booking via the form above or by calling RNZYS 09 360 6800
  3. RNZYS Full and Country members have priority on use of moorings and may book these in advance for a maximum of 2 nights.
  4. If you are unable to make your booking you must cancel this in advance so others can then potentially book. If you have a booking that is a ‘no-show’ RNZYS reserves the right to exclude you from being able to book in the future.
  5. RNZYS Squadron members or KBC members can use on a first booked first served basis after 5pm on the day of arrival if there is no advance booking in place. These may be booked on the day of arrival only and for a maximum of one night only.
  6. You must display your RNZYS burgee whilst on the mooring.
  7. Other RNZYS membership categories and non-members of RNZYS or KBC are not able to book these moorings without prior consent from RNZYS management.
  8. For RNZYS Full and Country members, there is a 2-night consecutive night maximum bookings. The moorings can be re-booked again if no other bookings are in place on the day of departure as a new booking for a further 2 nights subject to availability.
  9. Moorings are to be vacated by 12pm on the day of departure.
  10. One boat per mooring only unless by prior consent of RNZYS management.
  11. Vessels must not exceed the maximum length specified which has been verified by the contracted company against the Auckland Transport Regulations. Vessels that cause damage or drag the mooring from its original location will be liable for costs.
  12. Moorings are marked SM01,SM02,SM03
  13. The Lidgard House mooring is for the use of occupants of the house only
  14. The Pontoon is for small dinghies only – do not tie trailer boats to the pontoon.
  15. If a vessel is occupying a mooring without a booking they must vacate the mooring for the vessel booked. The vessel booked will have a booking confirmation.
  16. Unauthorised use of the moorings is prohibited and RNZYS reserves the right to ask any vessel occupying the moorings that are not authorised to vacate these immediately.
  17. RNZYS management will be the sole decision maker on any booking disputes or booking errors should they arise.

These moorings must be booked in advance by RNZYS Full or Country Members. 

Kawau Boating Club members and RNZYS Squadron Members can book them on the day of arrival, however only after 5pm.

Other RNZYS membership categories are not able to book the moorings without prior consent from RNZYS management.
