The Toyota Kiwi Cup Regatta kicks off on Monday 30th September with 10 teams from across New Zealand selected to represent their yacht clubs.
The road to America’s Cup success has been travelled by many Kiwi sailors, and on this journey it has the been the highly competitive environment of New Zealand Sailing clubs and teams that have provided that all-important grass roots beginning.
Toyota Kiwi Cup Regatta is a new national event for sailors aged between 14 – 18 year olds from across New Zealand chosen to represent their Yacht Clubs. Sponsored by Toyota and hosted by Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the teams will race in the Emirates Team New Zealand Elliott 7 fleet on the Waitemata Harbour.
Based at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron the historic ballroom will be transformed into a tent city as we bring these young sailors together to compete, grow their skills, and support them to continue their journey of success.

- Charteris Bay Yacht Club (Canterbury)
- Kerikeri Cruising Club (Northland)
- Murray Bay Sailing Club (Auckland)
- Napier Sailing Club (Hawke’s Bay)
- Plimmerton Boating Club (Wellington)
- Queen Charlotte Yacht Club (Malborough)
- Royal Akarana Yacht Club (Auckland)
- Sandspit Yacht Club (Auckland)
- Tauranga Yacht & Powerboat Club (Bay of Plenty)
- Nelson & Wanka Yacht Club / Combined
These teams will be on location at RNZYS from the 29th of September through to the 5th of October. They will be immersed in sailing for the entire week and in addition, will have the opportunity to learn from the experts, including our Mastercard Youth Training Program Head Coach Zak Merton, as well as Southern Spars, North Sails, PredictWind, and Live Sail Die and many more.
