If you are planning to sail to Kawau Island this summer, please be aware that Conservation Auckland has begun a new phase of the Pest Free Kawau project, which involves the use of poison and bait stations on the island.
This is especially important for anyone bringing dogs, and also for those visiting with children or grandchildren. Please take extra care when going ashore, keep pets under close control, and follow all safety signage and instructions in affected areas.
