Race Official of the Year – Megan Kensington
A pillar of our race management team since 1998, Megan has mentored countless race officers and served as Chair of the Race Management Committee since 2012. Her achievements are vast—from managing our on-water volunteer teams to serving as an International Race Officer since 2008. Most recently, she represented New Zealand as a Technical Delegate for the iQFOiL and kitefoil classes at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Megan, your passion, leadership, and commitment inspire us all. This award, long overdue, is a small token of our immense gratitude.
Ross Chapman
Boat Driver of the Year – Ross Chapman
Ross is a true club stalwart. Week in and week out, he’s out driving Ocean Bridge Te Kouma for the Mastercard Youth Training Programme, coordinating volunteer support, and even taking the helm for his own boat Charmonet during club races. Ross was also the race officer for the NZ Match Racing Nationals and generously hosted an Australian team aboard his boat. Ross, your energy and dedication are unmatched—thank you for all you do.
Blair Park
Judge/Umpire of the Year – Blair Park
Cool, calm, and collected, Blair is a versatile force in the club — working as a race officer, umpire, and judge. This season, he’s been ever-present at our protest hearings and has played a key role in mentoring young sailors through the often-intimidating protest process. Your integrity, wisdom, and generosity, Blair, make you a true legend of our sport.
