It is my great pleasure to formally announce the appointment of Georgia Witt as General Manager of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

Many of you already know Georgia as a familiar and respected team member within the Squadron. Humble, dedicated, calm under pressure and always going the extra nautical mile, Georgia has served the Squadron with distinction over multiple roles and years, most recently stepping into the Interim General Manager. During this time, she has led with professionalism, warmth, and a deep commitment to our members and our mission.

Georgia’s career journey leading up to this appointment reflects a breadth of leadership, operational, and member-focused experience. She holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Tasmania, majoring in Business Management and Marketing, and has built her career across Australia and New Zealand in the hospitality, events, recreation, and sailing industries.

Her RNZYS career began in 2015 as Race Manager, before she returned in 2022 to take on roles as Office Manager, HR & PA and later Membership & Offer Manager, overseeing sailing, major projects, membership, retail operations, and HR.

Prior to rejoining the Squadron, Georgia spent four years with TopYacht Software as the main point of contact and support for Yacht Clubs across Australia & the Pacific (a system that is familiar amongst our sailing membership), where she honed her operational and systems expertise in the sport.

She has also held sales, marketing, and events leadership roles with Island Recreation and The Tailrace Centre, managing large-scale events, complex operations, and customer engagement.

Her combination of business acumen, deep sailing knowledge, people leadership, and unwavering commitment to member experience makes Georgia exceptionally well-placed to guide the Squadron into its next chapter.
