We had another great two days of sailing this past weekend.
Saturday was the Commodores Cup, which gave a few of our athletes the chance to get on owners boats and do a bigger race. The rest of us were out in the Elliott 7s running drills. With the Harken Youth International coming up at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Pittwater, we went back to basics and worked on some simple boat handling drills. We followed this up with some technical upwind and downwind exercises. It was also nice to tuck into Shoal Bay and get out of the tide for the day.
Sunday morning was our usual early start at Spartafit, with the team working hard to get some good weight training in. We then spent the morning running full races before finishing the weekend by lifting all 10 boats on the crane and giving the antifoul a clean.
It was a good weekend for the team. Everyone mucked in, worked well together, got some quality training done, and gave the boats a bit of love at the same time.
Unfortunately, the City of Sails Sprint Series was cancelled last Thursday due to the wind, but we’re hoping to be back out there again next Thursday.
