CREW PASS

Want to get out sailing?

Don’t know where to start?

We’ll help find you a boat!

Crew Pass connects people looking to get involved in sailing with RNZYS members and boats looking for crew.

Whether you’re completely new to sailing, looking to build your experience, or simply keen to meet more people and spend more time on the water, Crew Pass is an easy way to get involved.

Simply register and tell us a little about yourself, including your sailing experience and availability. We’ll use this information to help match you with suitable crewing opportunities within the Squadron fleet.

Register for Crew Pass and get connected with the RNZYS sailing community.

Not sure where to begin? Our Sundowner Rum Race Series is a great first step.

Held on Friday evenings, Sundowner racing is relaxed, social and a great introduction to sailing at RNZYS. We’ll aim to match Crew Pass participants with member boats looking for an extra set of hands.
From there, who knows? One race could turn into a regular crew spot!

What is a Sundowner Rum Race?
“Friday Sundowner Rum Race” is the traditional name for the Squadron “lower pressure” end of the working week social race.

When is it?
• Autumn & Winter Season, Friday – arrive by 3pm at the RNZYS Reception.
• Spring & Summer Season, Friday – arrive by 4pm at the RNZYS Reception.

Free for RNZYS Members and members from reciprocal yacht clubs.
