Callisto (James Murray) has come out strong in the opening race of the 2025 Admiral’s Cup, winning the Channel Race in Division 2 and overall on IRC.

Callisto is one of two yachts representing RNZYS at the Admiral’s Cup. Caro (Max Klink), is also on the RNZYS team, and after finishing 8th in Division 1, this puts our team in 8th overall after the Channel Race.

The Channel Race is a double points scoring race and the result can not be dropped from the overall scores.

With a lay day on Monday 21st July, the crews will have a chance to repair and recover before the inshore races get underway on Tuesday 22nd. The inshore races, of which there are six on the schedule, are single scoring races, and one race can be dropped once four of those races has been completed.

The Admiral’s Cup wraps up with the Rolex Fastnet Race on Saturday 26th July. This race is a triple points scoring race, and is another one that can’t be dropped.

There is still a lot to play for at the 2025 Admiral’s Cup.
