Our vision is that kiwi and other native birdlife will return to the RNZYS property on Kawau Island.
To achieve this, the current invasive species and pests need to be removed, with native shrubs and trees to take their place.
Pine clearing commenced in 2021, and already more than 5000 native plants have been established. In our fourth year, we’ll focus on assisting those plants to survive and flourish.
As land owners and responsible citizens, we are part of the wider Kawau community which is heavily invested with Predator Free 2050 via Restore Rodney East / Council / Forrest & Bird / DOC.
